A Touch of Smith and Jones ficverse

Basic changes from Doctor Who canon- Martha is at PPTH to get her medical degree. Leo lives in Manhattan with his wife and newborn son. Martha’s parents and her sister Tish still live in England.

House MD- Starts at the end of the season 3 episode "Resignation."

Classic Fury. Parts of Nick Fury's personal canon is used in this ficverse (adjusted slightly to fit this timeline), but all of these stories take place in the Doctor Who universe, not the Marvel Universe.

First Day- The Ninth Doctor's POV
The Doctor owes Jack an apology.
First Steps- Jack's POV
Jack's not sure what to do when he is rescued by the Doctor.
Second Look- Rose's POV
Rose has a few questions for the Doctor about Jack.

A Touch of Smith and Jones
Story starts with the Doctor running into Wilson when Wilson returns to PPTH after confronting House about dosing him with amphetamines.
Day one-PPTH on the moon
Day two- morning - Doctor and Martha stop by to invite House and Wilson to the beach

(Day three- morning- House and Wilson fly to Cardiff for the COMET medical convention where Wilson is a guest speaker. Afternoon- Jack comes back from the dead four days after he is killed by Abaddos.)

Doctors Dancing
(Day four- early morning- Jack thinks the Tardis has returned and runs to meet it- only to find there is nothing there. At the same time- The Doctor, Martha and Jack return from the future and see the Master on TV at Tish's apartment)
Day four- early afternoon- Wilson and House meet Jack
(The Doctor, Jack, and Martha are declared terrorists)
(Late evening- Torchwood gets a call saying Jack is in the Himalayas and take off to investigate, leaving Ianto behind to watch over the Hub.)
Day five- morning, Jack, House and Wilson head for the Starbucks at Mermaid Quay- Jack hears the TARDIS just as they reach the end of the Plass and takes off running- yelling back to House and Wilson to let his team know that he is fine.

The year that never was
note- U.N.I.T. (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) has been neutralized by the Master- most of the resistance is coordinated through S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage, and Logistics Directorate) (Both are answerable to the the UN Security Council- U.N.I.T investigate and combat paranormal and extraterrestrial threats, while S.H.I.E.L.D. investigate and combat terrestrial threats. Because Colonel Nicholas Fury has total control of the running of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Master is unable to gain control of the organization. U.N.I.T.'s Zen division, run by General Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (post "Happy Endings") also remains free of the Master's influence, and coordinates with S.H.I.E.L.D. during the year that never was.)

Story
Day one- 8 am- House and Wilson are at the tourist center watching events while Ianto calls the team to let them know Jack is all right- when the Master orders the Toclafane to attack. They help Ianto lock down the Hub.
Day three- Martha runs into House, Wilson and Ianto. SHIELD and UNIT's Zen Division move in to help remove or destroy some of the more dangerous devices in Torchwood's possession. Fury orders a team to retrieve Gwen, Owen and Tosh.
Day four- House and Tosh rewrite a section of the computer codes controlling the Rift Manipulator. They then insert a virus into Torchwood's computer system.
Day five- Early- Torchwood 3 is abandoned. Evening- The Master arrives to take control of the Rift Manipulator. Brings Jack with him.

Story
Day 240- Martha returns to PPTH and gets some help from House’s team.

Paradox
Day 358- Wilson is captured and taken to the Valiant
Day 360- The Master unlocks Jack's memories of the Time War
Day 364- Chase-- now in England-- meets Martha and takes her to Professor Docherty

Paradox II
Day 365- Everything goes wrong, but Jack's Doctor has a plan.

New steps to an Old Dance
Set one month after Jack meets House and Wilson and after the year that never was
Martha’s parents decide to move to New York to be closer to Leo and the grandkid and Ianto convinces Jack to go with them. Martha returns to PPTH to finish her training. Jack heads over to House’s apartment for a visit. House and Wilson help Jack come to terms with the events that happened during the year that never was. Martha begins to settle back into her old life and finds herself falling for Chase (again.) Jack and Cuddy have some fun. Martha starts her fellowship with House.

The Making of a Hero
Fury drops Tony off in Cardiff to met Captain America to learn what it means to be a hero.

All Of It
Tony helps Bruce Banner with his little problem, but Bruce isn't sure if this is quite the help that he wants.

On The Beach
Ianto reminisces.

Reset Button
(Around 1 year after "Smith and Jones".)
House calls Jack in for a consult when he runs into an interesting problem with his current patient, and Jack takes Owen with him. House then ends up taking a second patient on Cuddy's insistence-- Tony Stark. Things get out of hand and Jack has Martha contact the Doctor. Cameron ends up leaving with the Doctor. (Rewrite of events from "KKBB", includes intro of Gray. Chase and Martha are engaged.)

U.N.I.T. has been reorganized after the incident on the Valiant. Now referred to as the Unified Intelligence Taskforce.

The Long And Winding Road
(1-1/2 years after "Smith and Jones".)
Martha and Chase are getting married, the Doctor wonders if it's time for him to settle down, and a ghost from Jack's past crashes the wedding.(Events from "Exit Wounds")

Torchwood
Captain Jack Harkness-
Is found and hired by Torchwood Three around 1899. Works as a freelance agent throughout the 20th century. Becomes leader of Torchwood Three on January 1, 2000. He cuts all ties to Torchwood One and recreates Torchwood Three (with a little help from Nick Fury) so that it can run independently from the rest of the Torchwood offices.

Nicholas Fury
b.1918 Hell's Kitchen, New York
WWII- (Sections from the Nick Fury profile page.) Early in the war, separated from the Howlers during a mission in France, Fury was gravely injured by a land mine. Discovered by French partisans, Fury was taken to a nearby doctor, Professor Berthold Sternberg. Unknown to Fury, Sternberg not only treated Fury's injuries to a full recovery, but also surgically altered Fury so that Fury could withstand inoculation with Sterberg's so-called "Infinity Formula," intended to slow or even halt the human aging process. Fury returned to his unit a week later, unaware of Sternberg's experiment.

In 1943, Fury and Dugan rescued Pam Hawley. Fury later decided to propose marriage to Hawley, but she perished tragically during a London air raid, killed by the raid's final bomb as she was helping the wounded. Months later, when Fury was home on leave, his brother Jake, jealous of Nick's fame, was abducted. Nick freed Jake but was captured himself, and Jake helped the Howlers rescue Nick. Following these events, Jake enlisted in the Army; but he soon regretted his choice, and his resentment of Nick grew.

In April 1944, the Howling Commandos are sent on a mission to France to find a Captain Jack Harkness and bring him back, dead or alive.

S.H.I.E.L.D.
S.H.I.E.L.D. timeline in "A Touch of Smith and Jones"-
Originally created by Fury just after WWII, but he abandoned the project thinking that the US government wouldn't approve of such an organization. The project was picked up in the early 60's by the US government and put into operation in 1972 as Supreme Headquarters International Espionage Law-enforcement Division-- a counterterrorism and intelligence agency. After an internal power struggle, Fury dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D. and retired from public service in 1993 and moved to Nova Scotia, Canada. In 1995, Fury returned to service at the request of the United Nation and rebuilt S.H.I.E.L.D. (now called Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage Logistics Directorate) and placed it under the direction of the U.N. security council as a balance to U.N.I.T. (United Nation Intelligence Taskforce), which was often tied up with situations involving extraterrestrial incursions. Smaller and more mobile than the original version, the new version now has several active bases, regional offices, and safe houses across the world. Fury retains complete control over the new S.H.I.E.L.D..
